Donald P. Bowers, 89, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Delaware County, Donald worked with the Dana Corporation for 51 years where he retired as Supervisor of the Sample Dept. He was a member of the Dana Quarter Century Club. Donald enjoyed farming, playing cards, golfing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Dey Bowers of Fort Wayne; sons, Russell (Linda) Bowers, and Donald W. Bowers both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kimberly (Kurt) Neuhaus of Fort Wayne, and Frances (Michael) Bowman of Brighton, MI; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, John Bowers of Selma, IN. Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Merlyn Bowers; parents, Donald H. and Shirley Bowers; sisters, Leona Lewellen, Bette Brewer, and Dortha Bowers; brother, Eugene Bowers; and daughter-in-law, Cheri Bowers. Service is 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd with calling one hour prior. Calling on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
