Donald F. Didier, 93, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Saint Anne Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne November 18, 1923, Don was the son of Clem and Edith Didier. Don was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and met friends from the Class of '41 monthly for lunch. Enlisting in 1942, Don served his country in the Air Force at Baer Field in Fort Wayne. In the years immediately after the war, he worked at the Wayne Pump Company. Don's 50-plus year career in interior design began in Houston, TX where he graduated from the Feather School of Interior Design, Class of 1952. Don returned to Fort Wayne in 1957 to become a designer for Adams and Walda Furniture and in 1961, he began a partnership at Cameron Interiors that would last 15 years. Don then built and ran his own business for the next 40 years, until his retirement in 2016 at the age of 92. An active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Don served as President of the Indiana Chapter in 1981 and 1982; the following year he served on ASID's national board and as the organization's liaison to the School of Design at Purdue University. Donald is survived by Marshall (Charlene) Didier, David (Judy) Didier of Fort Wayne, Edythe Mary Sands of Silver Lake, IN, Helen (John) Herber of Webster Groves, MO, and sister-in-law, Carol Didier of Fort Wayne. He was also a loving uncle to sixty nieces and nephews and many more grand nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jack, Jim and Thomas; and his sisters, Phyllis Nolan, Margann Hampton, and Margaret Chandler. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1112 South Clinton St. with a gathering begin at 9:30 a.m. Calling is Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E.
