Verna McFadden Keever , 93, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at The Cedars in Leo-Cedarville. Born in rural Allen County, IN, Verna graduated as Valedictorian from Ossian HS in 1939. She worked as a Secretary with Coe Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. for 16 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, making ceramics and enjoyed reading and would read over 100 books a year. Verna learned to play golf at the age of 60 while spending winters at Lake Fairways, N. Ft. Myers Fl. and played until she was 86 and had a hole in one. Surviving are her sons, Steven H. (Rebecca) Keever of Greenwood, IN; Bruce E. (Terri) Keever of Woodenville, WA; daughters, Joyce (Dan) Herstad of Fort Wayne, IN; Patricia (Dennis) Moran of South Bend, IN; brother, Ellis (Marilynn) McFadden of Ft. Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren 5 step grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren . Verna was preceded in death by her husband Henry F. Keever, parents Otis A. and Edna V. McFadden, brother, Donald and Richard McFadden. Service is 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home . Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church 917 W.
